Worst hotel experience ever! We attempted to check in at about noon, realizing this was early, but with power outages in the area, and storms looming we had no place to go as we live in AZ. We were denied check in, in a rude fashion. I had pre paid for our room and the website said nothing about no early arrivals. To add insult to injury, the money I saved booking my room at this establishment was lost and then some when because of the refusal to allow an early check in, my insulin and another injectable medication were spoiled due to not being able to keep them out of the heat for several hours. Therefore, I was left without my medication until I arrived home in AZ late Sunday night. The room could have been cleaner, and the hallways were full of bugs and just gross. I would also like to point out that people who stay in a hotel, generally don't have any place else to stay because they are out of town. The family we visited in MI were about 3 hours north of Detroit. I absolutely do not recommend this hotel at all! I have stayed in plenty of other Best Western hotels, and this one is lacking in friendliness and professionalism and overall atmosphere.

I was very impressed with the amenities and room options at this hotel, at a considerably cheaper price than equivalent hotels. It is much nicer than I expected from a 2-star hotel. The staff is friendly and helpful. Having an on-site hotel and gift shop with snacks was extremely helpful when my stay was unexpectedly extended. The updated decor is very attractive, however there are still rough edges in it's overall appearance. Free shuttle, jacuzzi in the room, restaurant for room service and gift shop for Ben & Jerry's...for the value I've been back repeatedly!

One thing I hate about going to a hotel is the fragrance they use to cover up smells. This hotel looked clean and smelled naturally clean. I only stayed one day so it suited me fine. I could have easily stayed longer though.

I stayed for several nights in a king/spa room, back in Octpber '08, booked thru AARP. What a deal!!:-) I don't think I can say enough good things about this place. Desk staff and management helpful and friendly, housekeeping was wonderful, friendly, helpful, kind!! (won't however trust vending machines ;-( Thanks for the in lobby store!) A little noisy now and then. but to be expected near airport. I will gladly stay here again.
